How to load an external SWF?

Most Flash-based virtual worlds (or social games as generally called) allows customization of characters. This means extra work for the artist to create a wide variety of eyes, nose, ears, and mouth — not to mention: hairs, tattoos, masks/helms, and if applicable, armors and weapons.

If all art assets are included inside the main SWF file, it will take a little longer for the game to load. To keep the main SWF file size as low as possible, other art assets are loaded dynamically.

Phlashers theme is out!

The new Phlashers WP theme titled Phlashers United v0.3 is finally here. After several revision changes (mostly due to IE6’s amazing grasp of CSS), this theme is finally ready to replace the ugly one we used to have.

This is the first wordpress theme I’ve designed and I actually had lots of fun working on it. I’ll try to make more themes in the future should anyone think that this one is cool. If you want to help make this theme better, kindly report any bugs or browser issues you might come across. I’ll be posting revision changes below and credits for all bug reports.

Naz, no polls muna, the pollĀ  plug-in was responsible for wrecking the old db and it gave me nightmares. This theme isn’t widget-friendly yet, I’ll try to get that working once I get my superpowers back.

Theme: Phlashers United v0.3
Author: John Imbong (http://johnimbong.com)
Launch: January 2009
Description: Official Phlashers Wordpress Theme

v.0.3:

  • 100% cross-browser compatibility (IE6 too, but it can go to HELL for all I care)
  • integrated sprites to lessen all http requests
  • finalized comments template for IE6 compatibility
  • added a template hack to be able to view all archives as a Page and not as a List
  • removed the footer because IE6 just won’t cooperate

v0.2:

  • redesigned the markup to accomodate the liquid design for IE6
  • initial comment template markup
  • added the Log-In/Register fields to the sidebar for easy access (and a few other blings)

v0.1:

  • liquid layout design markup
  • full template designs excluding comments.php
