Thanks to all who submitted and congratulations to the winners of the Phlashers 2009 AS3 contest!

Enormous thanks to John Koch and Rachel Luxemburg from Adobe for their support for the community and providing the prizes (software licenses, shirts). The following entries received the highest ratings from our panel of Actionscripters:

1st prize goes to JP Tiangco for his entry “Thunder Bangaws”
Description: Swarming particles that get angry when you click your mouse

2nd prize goes to Donald Martinez for his entry “Close Encounters” (Interesting use of the sound API!)
Description: Dynamic Sound and Graphic composition based on the Close Encounters of the Third Kind Theme.

Finally, 3rd prize goes to MJ Mendoza for his entry “Rainbow Worms”
Description: Here’s my wormy contest piece. Nothing fancy. It was
supposed to be a funky remix of the old snake game until I read the rule
that it must be within 5KB.
